Dave Gonzalez

Dave G is a friend to all, a good listener who looks you in the eye thoughtfully when you speak. But before you get too far into your life story, check if his hearing protection is still in. (SteveO learned that one the hard way.)
Dave Gonzalez attended West Torrance High (where Beverly Hills 90210 was filmed) and took surf class at Manhattan Beach. He received an AA degree from El Camino College and went on to USC on a music scholarship. With the USC band, Dave traveled to events all over the country (including three Rose Parades and two Superbowls), sometimes playing to crowds of 40,000 or more (and don't try to tell Dave that they WEREN'T all there to see the band!). After graduating from USC, Dave played at Disneyland in the Magic Kingdom Korps and the Trash Can Trio. He also played in the Laker Band at LA Lakers' home games. Since coming to Hawaii, Mr. Gonzalez has worked with the Punahou School jazz band and drumline, He has also directed the concert and marching bands at Holy Family Catholic Academy. Recently, Mr. G began teaching after-school percussion classes for children in grades 2 through 8. The name of the program is PRECISION PERCUSSION. To get your child involved, talk to Dave (but first check for the hearing protection.) In his free time, Dave likes to hang out at the water, drink coffee, get some grub, or watch sports on the tube. He likes to travel, especially to Vegas. Whenever possible, Dave enjoys silence.
Dave has been influenced by The Police, Gloria Estefan, Diana Krall, Earth Wind and Fire, and Chicago. At the time of this writing, his most recent CD acquisition was Los Lonely Boys.

Dave hopes to one day open a community center where children can learn about arts, technology, and life. Or perhaps, he will follow his faith and build a church/performing arts school.
